long story short

My apologies for the unexpected blog break, I was MIA for a little while there. Thank you to those who checked on me over the past month and a half; it means so much to me.  Here's the reason (in addition to my unpacking-decorating-arranging-redecorating-rearranging): Our youngest, apparently a budding electrician, managed to get his hands on not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 macbook chargers.  They were not, to our surprise, made in such a way as to withstand 2+ ounces of slobber soaking into the little pluggy thing.  Coincidentally, my computer also developed a need for a new battery and some other fill-in-the-blank-with-technical-jargon hardware.  The nice people at the Apple store gave us 2 brand new chargers, replaced the battery, and installed the very-important-but-technically-mysterious hardware at no charge to us, or to our young electrician.  And it is times like these that remind me of God's constant care for us.

I am feeling pretty set on being settled, at least with the practical things. The toys are stored, we have trash cans in the kitchen and both bathrooms and I have a place to put the laundry, and it is not on the hallway or bedroom floors, not that it ever was ;)

I am off to take in the crisp Fall air; we have plans to bake an apple pie this week-the girls went apple picking!  I heart living in the midwest!

SO glad you're back and that computer problems and such are the only things keeping you away...I was a little nervous for worse news!

And we share your little electrician woes. Ruby has done that to TWO of our cords this year. TWO. So we have to keep the laptop unplugged and the cord stashed up high whenever she's awake because it's in an easy to get to place.

LOVe your photos!

I feel your pain Rachel and we were shocked when they handed us the two free cords at no charge! We have strict rules about where we keep our cords now.

Glad you are back... I was getting worried about you too!!!

Also glad to hear you guys are getting settled... I am still in shambles after a whole year living here. I think it may have something to do with my frequent thrift store visits but I just can't stop myself... :) Hope to maybe meet up soon!! We do preschool Tu, Wed, Thur so Mon/Fri are open here... Usually just Value Village and a few other small ones way out here in west county. There isn't much in the city as far as good thrift stores goes so I usually just stick out here. Although I am going to go to Maplewood tomorrow to Treasure Aisles. I am still looking for some great big storage options for my kitchen and front room.

I will one day get to St. Charles area and on the IL side to look around over there. If you are interested there is an Octoberfest (craft/antique show) going on in Maeystown, IL on Sunday 9-5 this weekend that I will be heading over to see... I have heard it is great. So we will see... I think I dropped you my phone number so if you ever want to chat just give me a call or here is my email allisontatum at msn dot com.
