The Weekend

The girls have colds so we stayed home from church today. I thought the other parents would appreciate the girls not hacking and sneezing on their children, at church. I decided to have a mini photo shoot for pictures to send in valentines for the family.

Yesterday we were busy making valentines for Emma's mothers day out class. This is my first time to send something for her whole class and I have always looked forward to this part of being a mom. The hearts are little pockets with some candy and the straw sticking out and I put a little note from Emma on the back.

Hi! :)

Routine hmmm... it seems that on some days I'm just trying to manage getting the laundry done, (or started!) and the dishes done! ;) No, really...we tend to try to get breakfast in and get ready for the day and all that that entails and I try to get our errands run in the a.m. so that the afternoon we can be home or do something "fun" together, this allows me to kind of feel "together" by having at least a chance at getting some things done around the house. Though, all that said, it seems that lately we're feeling a bit pinched for time. There is absolutely not enough time in the day to get everything accomplished it seems! What about you guys? How involved are you in any given day with the girls? Do you do projects together? Do you have things like story time and stuff? I'm struggling with playing with Zoey all the time vs. having her have some time to "learn" to play by herself, (she does this but would totally prefer that Mommy would play too!). I feel like on some days I'm saying "okay, just a minute..let mommy finish this first, etc., etc.-and that makes me feel terrible! I really think a lot of it has to do with being cooped up in the house now too with it being so cold here. So, I guess to answer your question, kind of! Nothing set in stone though. Thinking though that it could be a good thing to implement something...but what? :)

And, did you know that MOP's has an online communtiy of moms that talk about parenting stuff too? The address is www.mops.org (I think!), if not just do a search! I forgot to mention that we do have weekly things that we always participate in like story hour and a little toddler music class which is nice because that way we get out and see other kids...

The hearts turned out so cute. It's fun that you got to make those w/Emma.

You asked about meal planning. I'd be more than happy to help you out. Maybe we can trade off meal planning and crafts. I mean can I just drop my kids off at your house for craft time, since thinking about doing something like that makes me want to crawl into bed?
