a night out with my one and only

It has already been over a week since we had our date, the first one, just us, in over a year! This was long overdue people. And it was such a treat. Jeremy surprised me two Friday's ago with a night out. My parents came to babysit-they were on there way back from a trip to New Mexico, and since Waco, is on the way to everywhere, they babysat for us. My favorite thing was getting to have a conversation with Jeremy without any interruptions-that is pretty rare these days. I am sure you can relate to that.

I have been busy around here. I am in an organizing/decorating frenzy. I am still trying to finish up details with the office space Jeremy built in August-we continue to be an example of the home remolding fact that it will take twice as long to finish your project than what you had planned. I really just have some small details left, in addition to sewing a curtain. The curtain is already cut and pinned in place. Maybe I will sew it tomorrow. We'll see. I can't wait to share photos with you.

Now on to more important matters...guess who decided to stand up and start walking this evening? We were hanging out in the girls room and all of the sudden, Stella took about 10 steps over to Jeremy! It was so fast and unexpected and totally cute. I will try to have my camera on hand the next time so the grandparents can see.

Also, I am so happy to share that my altered envelope purse I shared with you in the last post, won the altered envelope contest! They announced the winner last Monday, what a great way to begin the week.

Speaking of Stella, she is wide awake and screaming, Jeremy's studying, that means I am on duty-gotta go.

Good night!

friday

Today is Stella's first day at mother's day out. It feels weird with both girls out of the house. I miss them both, but I know they are having a great time. So since Jeremy is studying and doing yard work, I am trying to clean up a HUGE mess. My mess is leftover from two projects I created for an altered envelope contest over at scrapscene.com

The first photos are of a purse made from one of the envelopes you get when your photos are printed.

The second is a canvas. The background is made of a bunch of unfolded envelopes pieced together to look like an argyle pattern. Then I added the rest with paint and stamps. The "R" was printed off the computer onto cardstock.

Thanks for visiting...have a good weekend.

the pumpkin patch

We went to Grand Prairie this past weekend to spend time with Jeremy's family AND we got to go to an awesome pumpkin patch. This was our first experience with a good patch. Two years ago we went to one in a neighboring small town and it was very underwhelming, it was pretty much a grocery store display set in the country. Anyways, here are some photos from the great patch. You can see more photos here. The rest are blogged by Jeremy and his posts are a must read!

Also, I thought I would share a bit about the altered cards pictured in the post below. The playing cards are by Heidi Swapp. The paper is wrapping from Old Navy. I received a gift that was wrapped in this paper and I carefully opened the gift so I could save the paper! I thought it was so beautiful. The butterflies were traced onto the green cardstock and hand cut. I used a white pen to draw stitches around the edge. The ribbons are from Micheals. They usually have these great $1 ribbon bins. I LOVE ribbon and usually stock up when there are some great colors.

Have a good day, we are off to MOPS!

Season 3 of the Gilmore Girls is one of my favorites. I LOVE that show. I think I could watch each season over and over again and not get tired of it. There is so much quick wit. I think I pick up something new every time.

Emma watched some of the episodes with us last Sunday. She later asked me if we were the Gilmore Girls.

I told her, "Nope, we are the Reeves' girls."

I have been staying up way too late the past few nights watching Season 3, while making some cards to swap with some other ladies in my BPS online class.

I had so much fun making these. I can't wait to get me cards from the other ladies.

tuesday

We have had lots of little things happening around here. Last week was pretty busy for preschool. Emma was the star student, which means she was the line leader, weather reported, class helper and flag holder. That also meant we needed to gather items about her to put up on a bulleten board in her class. She also had pictures on Friday. I took her to get her hair cut on Tuesday. I think she enjoyed the experience so much that she decided to recreate a beauty shop in her room and gave herself a haircut. I realized this after it was too late...I was shocked...she cut some very short layers.

It is hard to tell in the photo how short some of it is. It could have been so much worse. We have since taken her back to get her hair evened out. Her new haircut is adorable!

It's funny, I have thought about getting my hair cut in a similar style in the past, so it is kind nice to see how it looks on her.

I just posted some photos of an mini album I made for her school's fund raiser. You can view it here.

Also, if you are going to CKU in Orlando, they will have my 6x6 albums for sale in the bookstore. Yeah!

and finally, there are lots of good times to be had at the little white table.
