good music, our porch and some gifts

First, yesterday, in attempt to find some kids music that both my daughter and I would enjoy listening too, I found a great podcast. We have a great cd from the The Land of Nod. As I was searching on Itunes I found four free podcasts by the Land of Nod. The first three are by some musicians and the fourth is by an author. You should check it out.

Next, some pictures of our front porch...

Taken in order to make this gift for our friend, Thomas, who is moving to Ft. Worth, next week, to teach at a classical Christian school and attend seminary. We have known him since he was a freshman a Baylor and our family will miss him. The past few years he has lived a couple of blocks down the street from us and brewed his own beer on his front porch. We thought we would make him a sign as a going away present.

We used an 8x8 album piece and attached the photo with spray adhesive. He can hang the sign through the holes at the top.

Oh, the quote is perfect for this it says, "Mother's in the kitchen washing out the jugs. Sister's in the pantry bottling the suds. Father's in the cellar mixin' up the hops. Johnny's on the front porch watchin' for the cops." -Prohibition song

And another gift for a dear friend who had a baby shower this past weekend. I made her a nursing blanket, but I forgot to take a picture of it...oops. I also made a little booklet out of the 3x5 album for her to put notes, advice and other things the women wrote down on note cards at the shower.
That's all for now...

drum roll please....

Thanks everyone who entered the drawing for the new 3x5 album! For the drawing (and for a mocha), we went to one of our favorite local coffee shops, Java Hut. Jason, the barista, was kind enough to let us take over his counter top, and to draw our winner.

Congratulations go to Carla of Westland, Michigan. Please email me your address and I will get this in the mail to you!

Thanks again and don't forget, we will be doing 2 more drawings in the coming weeks.

give away update

Just wanted to share that I will be taking comments on the post below until 3:30 central time today! Then I will post the winner tomorrow, Tuesday, July 24.

New Product Giveaway!

What better way to celebrate new products than to give 'em away? This will be the first of a few product giveaways over the upcoming weeks, so check back often.

For the first one, I am giving away one of my new 3"x5" clear acrylic albums; additionally, I will throw in a 4 pack of my popular 1.5" acrylic pendants.

Here's what to do: leave a comment answering the question "Caff or Decaff and why?"

For me, it has to be Caff: 2 kids (one who refuses to sleep through the night :), new business, 77 year old house in ongoing need of attention, etc. etc.!

I will randomly draw a comment on Monday, July 23rd. While you wait, you should read this story about the arrival of our second daughter, the one who is practically nocturnal.

Summer 2007

Exciting times for d. reeves design house! Scrapbook.com just sent out a newsletter featuring products coming out at CHA Summer 2007. Our products were featured on their newsletter! We are so thankful for all of their support. We will not be attending CHA this year, but we do have new products to release and will continue to release new products throughout this fall!

Our new sizes are 3x5 and 12x12, and don't forget there is more to come.

Here is a sample of the 3x5 and another 6x6 album....I have been so busy filling orders that my creating time has been limited. I hope to work on a 12x12 this week. I will post pictures when I finish it.

Also, If you get a chance, check out the message board at Cocoa Daisy. Their is a sneak peak of the August kit that is full of Kristina Contes favorite products. And, yep, you guessed it, our 4x6.5 album will be included in the kit.

Today we stamped with our cookie cutters onto craft paper (I found this idea in a book I have). I put temper paint on some plates and pulled out our stash of cookies cutters and Emma and I stamped and painted some fun pictures.
